Doctor:
The sound wave that cannot be detected by the human’s ear is called ultrasound, which reaches deep into the body and produces heat. The heat increases local blood flow and alleviates pain. Ultrasound is used for the treatment of joint ache (arthralgia) of the shoulder, back, hip and others. Ultrasound is also used for imaging tests of various organs. Because ultrasound is minimally harmless to the body, unlike X-rays, it is widely used in obstetrics and gynecology.

人間の耳では聴きとれない音波（超音波）は、身体の深部まで届き、熱を発生します。熱は局所の血流を増加し、痛みをやわらげる働きをします。肩だけでなく、腰、大腿部や、その他の関節の痛みの治療に使用されています。超音波は、又、各種の臓器の影像を撮ることにも使われます。レントゲン線と違い身体への害がごく少ない為に、産婦人科で広く使われます。

The word “ultrasound” may sound overpowering, but the principal for use in treatment is simple. It is said to be safe to receive ultrasound treatment.

" Ultrasound " という名前に圧倒されないで、原理は簡単な訳ですから恐れずに治療を受けましょう。
